An artistic workshop for young explorers of light!

Have you ever tried drawing with the sun?
With cyanotype, an ancient photographic technique that turns everything blue, you’ll discover how light, chemistry, and a touch of imagination can transform into true works of art!

What We’ll Do Together:
Discover how photographs were made over 150 years ago
Learn how to prepare magical paper that changes color in the sunlight
Play with flowers, leaves, small objects, and negatives to create unique images
Expose everything to the sun and watch the magic come to life

At the end, everyone will take home a collection of handmade blue prints—
printed on: a fabric tote bag and several sheets of paper.

Materials Included:

Light-sensitive paper
Brushes, magical (chemical) products, and all necessary supplies
A customizable tote bag and a T-shirt to decorate

Bring with you:
Flowers, leaves, shells, or small objects with interesting shapes—anything you’d like to use to create your “blue shadows”

What to Wear:

Comfortable clothes that can get messy—we’ll be having fun with hands and brushes!

Who Is This Workshop For?

For all curious and creative children aged 7 and up, accompanied by their parents.
No drawing skills or prior experience needed—just a desire to explore and experiment!

The course is led by Federico Catagnoli, artist and master of solar experiments and creativity.

Important Detail

The workshop takes place inside an art gallery, surrounded by paintings and delicate artworks.
For this reason, we ask children to follow just one simple rule:
👉 be very careful and do not touch the artworks on display.
