Drawing Workshop
WILD NOTEBOOK
Volume I – THE PORTRAIT, there is the essence of a sketched face in the back of the eyes.
Synopsis:
This is an experimental drawing workshop that will appeal to any curious and creative person.
Description:
This drawing workshop is called “Wild Notebook” and consists of many volumes, in-depth analysis of the different practices and graphic art techniques; with a focus also on the subjects represented. The first volume is on the portrait, and takes the subtitle of: “there is the essence of a face sketched in the back of the eyes”.
The core element of the drawing course is the notebook. The “book” structure lends itself very well both to the realization of sketches and written notes, in every place and pose; either a cancellation of fear too often caused by a large blank sheet attached to the easel, Especially for those who feel an insecurity due to the lack of practice.
Professor Mauro Valsecchi: The notebook is a central tool also in my work as visual artist: it is a container for collecting data observed and imagined daily, which then becomes a collection of my interests, mania, obsessions and glances on the world; Over the years I have drawn and written many notebooks to the point that I could consider them my greatest work.
The drawing lesson, lasting 2 hours, is divided in half: a more technical part, academic, linked to the drawing of real copy of objects or human figures, to teach the hand that there are also rules that can be followed. The other part of the lesson is focused on freeing the hand: to wander around on paper like a twine between the cages of the canons, we practice a series of perceptive and sensory exercises, where the graphic gesture takes the playful drift of experimentation but also the pragmatism of a discovery.
This workshop is open to all curious people who want to start expressing themselves with drawing, but also to professional artists who want to discover new creative ways to draw their subjects.
