The association “L’Intreccio Viola,” based in Turin and committed to promoting mental health, sexual wellness and the arts through cultural events and initiatives, has launched a call for artists living in Italy or abroad interested in participating in a group exhibition in the spring of 2024 entitled “A Corpo Libero.”
From medicalization to gender issues through collective perceptions, bodies are constantly exposed to the public: from this reflection arises the need to explore practices of self-determination that allow us to regain control over our bodies and images, in a context that favors conformity at the expense of the concepts of care and healing promoted by transfeminist queer movements around the world.
The “A Corpo Libero” project aims to provide a space for artists who explore the individual with a deeply political gaze.
Participation in the call is free, and each artist may submit up to three works. Pictorial, sculptural, photographic or multimedia works are accepted. The deadline for submission of proposals is 11:59 p.m. March 31.
