Print 100 copies

William Aparicio appropriates the photographic scanner, redefining in detail reality, a practice defined by Joan Fontcuberta as postphotography.
His works are distinguished by the deep attempt to explore the tangibility in its most detailed nuances, a practice linked to reflections on the digital image in the contemporary world. In Data Bodies, William merges two parts of his identity: one as a photographer and the other as an artist that examines the human body like a radiologist, but from a different perspective. The theatricality of the poses of the models generates involuntary micro-performances close to the absurd and the dystopian parody of technology materializes in a tangible form.

William Aparicio used a photographic scanner to recharacterize the details of reality, a practice defined by Joan Fontcuberta as post-photography.
His work stands out for its profound attempt to explore the tangibility of the slightest differences, which is related to the reflection on digital images of the contemporary world. In Data Bodies, William merges two parts of his identity: one as a photographer and the other as an artist. He examines the human body like a radiologist, but from a different perspective. The theatricality of the models’ poses generates involuntary micro-performances close to the absurd, and the dystopian parody of technology materializes in tangible form.
