Giorgia Oldano, born in Turin in 1984, is a skilled draughtswoman and expert in the natural world, whose work follows the path of the Wildlife genre.
For several years, alongside pencil drawing, she has also been using the intaglio technique of monotype, the only printmaking process that allows for the creation of a unique work. Giorgia Oldano’s approach to monotype is unconventional, as printing in multiple layers allows her to achieve effects of foreground and background.
Leaves, feathers, textiles, and fabrics are used for the marks and textures they leave on the sheet, so that veins and patterns become both expressive motifs and decorative details.
The subjects of her works are animals and plants, inked and impressed onto the paper.
