In Looking at the Moon, Debora Fella creates a fragile and poetic image, working on paper. The artist draws on both the front and the back, layering matter and absence; she works with frottage and scratches certain areas with sandpaper, allowing visual memories to surface, as if suspended.
The uncolored areas, intentionally left in suspension, are not empty spaces but traces of light: it is the moon reflecting its presence onto the cat’s body, revealing it while at the same time withdrawing it from full visibility.

The work moves between revelation and disappearance, between what appears and what remains hidden.
