Starting from the concept of the five skins of the human being developed by Hundertwasser, we explore the body: from its core to its outermost layer of existence and self-affirmation.

In the inward search, the nature of the body reveals itself as a complex instrument, composed of an infallible organicity—a composition and a system whose parts are harmoniously arranged and interconnected. Human nature extends beyond the body; it expands outward, toward dwelling. Man dwells in order to create, preserve, intensify, and allow his modes of being to evolve.
In the experience of dwelling, the naked body proves inadequate in relation to its surroundings—it requires architecture and the act of building to compensate for its physiological limitations. It defines a space for the creation of a favorable ecosystem, from which it extracts and affirms a constellation of compositions as instruments of support.

These are the reflections from which Alessandra Redondi and Jana Mosconi begin to develop their works, focusing respectively on internal organicity and external structures.
Alessandra explores the internal life of the body. She reflects on what is unseen and ventures into a non-traditional way of representing it, extracting from its utilitarian meaning the essential aesthetic weight. Fascinated by the body as a “machine,” she studies it to master its characteristics. Drawing is her first chosen medium to deepen learning—a tool for investigation.
Investigation is followed by imagination, leading to a non-conventional representation of the body and its inner workings: clothing materials become the substance of organs, physically materialized in wool.

Jana recognizes within herself—and within human nature—the drive to build in order to move forward, and she views the act of claiming space as a celebration of both the self and the space itself.
Grounded in an in-depth study of vernacular and rural art, she begins to collect traces of her father’s actions and constructions, gaining awareness by taking part in the ritual of dwelling. In the creation of her works, she draws from an apotropaic imagination and emphasizes symbols that highlight the profound historical coherence in humanity’s impulse to create its own extensions.

While the former are analytical studies marked by the formal coherence of black and white, the latter are emotional works rich in material symbolism. The pieces are clearly articulated within a coherent path; the two artists inhabit the rooms in a dynamic and intentional way, turning the gallery into a unified and refreshing space for exploration.
