Would you like to take some time to learn how to paint in oil on canvas, combining a passion for plants with artistic practice?
We look forward to welcoming you for an afternoon dedicated to creativity, observation, and self-care.

During the workshop, you will be guided in creating your own canvas, inspired by a plant subject that holds personal meaning for you. Everyone is welcome to bring a plant (either in person or as a photograph), but the gallery will also provide a selection of botanical varieties to draw inspiration from.

Since ancient times, herbariums have served as a bridge between scientific observation and poetic vision. This workshop is an invitation to reinterpret your own “herbarium page” through painting, allowing a personal connection with the natural world to emerge.

✏️ How the workshop works:

• Theoretical introduction to the history of herbariums and a look at selected artistic examples

• Exercises to refine observation skills and approach the botanical subject

• Basic notions of oil painting and free use of materials

• Creation of your own canvas with technical and creative guidance

All materials are provided at the gallery, but you are welcome to bring your own brushes or paints.

Teacher: Alessandra La Marca

An artist selected by Art Gallery Finestreria, featured in the solo exhibition Immersione Aerosa in 2023 and part of the group show Tuttigatti in 2024. Her sensitivity and attentiveness toward the plant world make her the perfect guide for this workshop.
